For states like South Dakota who are bleeding population as though there won't be a tomorrow, perhaps banning abortion makes economic sense. That is, until you realize that young people are going to be even less likely to stay in the state or immigrate. Oh well, perhaps if their population sinks low enough they'll make the Dakotas and Wyoming territories again. It would mean fewer Republican senators and congressmen.
